Job summary

Ghent-Rehabilitation-and-Nursing-Center is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to deliver OT services to residents within the facility. The role reports to the Facility Director of Rehabilitation or Rehabilitation Manager and collaborates with the OT supervisor and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive care.

The candidate should have an associate degree in occupational therapy and an active NYS OT license.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current unencumbered OT license (NYS) or equivalent as applicable.
• Graduate of an accredited program with an OTA/COTA associate degree.
• Geriatric experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Able to use standard computer applications and EMR.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external resources.
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT services to residents per physician orders.
• Document treatment plans and progress in accordance with policy.
• Maintain and safeguard resident confidentiality and rights.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure care during non-therapy hours.
• Maintain clinical software and equipment as required.
