Job summary

Apple Rehab Mystic is actively seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide high-quality resident care and support occupational therapy services under supervision.

You will assist in treatments, help residents achieve maximum functional independence, and collaborate with the Rehabilitation Director and Occupational Therapist to ensure optimal outcomes in a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AOTA accredited OTA program and eligible for licensure in their state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards and practice guidelines as defined by state of licensure.
• Assists the OT in providing occupational therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care as directed by the OT
• Manages caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency expectations.
• Instructs resident, family, and caregivers in OT procedures to be continued upon discharge.
• Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensures all OT documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
• Working with OT, provides oversight and direction techs and assists in the supervision and education of affiliating students.
• Assists in the assurance that the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly and free from conditions that may cause safety hazards.

• Occupational Therapist Assistant maintains resident confidentiality and privacy. Fosters feelings of self-worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding.
• Knows and complies with Residents’ Bill of Rights. Reports all grievances and resident complaints to administrator and/or Director of Nursing immediately.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/move fifty (50) pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Fine motor skills
• Visual acuity

Other Job Functions

• Maintains own professional competence as well as learning new creative trends in OT treatment through participation in continuing education, seminars and training programs.
• Attends all mandatory in‑services.
