Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) for our Bronx, NY location. New graduates are welcome to apply, and you will support students by implementing therapy plans under supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting in evaluations, executing treatment plans, and guiding patients and caregivers in daily activities and home programs, while maintaining progress notes and reporting changes to the supervising OT.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Valid New York state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA).

• Carry out treatment plans designed by the occupational therapist, including leading therapeutic activities such as exercises to improve motor skills, sensory integration activities, and self-care training.
• Teach patients how to use assistive devices to enhance their independence in daily tasks.
• Closely observe progress during therapy sessions, document observations and changes in function, and report findings to the occupational therapist.
• Instruct patients and their caregivers on proper techniques for completing daily activities and home exercise programs.
