Job summary

Ahava Therapy Services is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our in-house rehab team at Whites Creek Wellness & Rehab in Whites Creek, TN. You will support the OT with treatments, evaluations, and documentation while collaborating closely with physicians and family members.

The ideal candidate holds an OTA degree, an active license or eligibility, and current BLS/CPR certification. A caring, detail-oriented approach and teamwork are essential to provide exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program.
• Active OTA license or eligibility under state statutes for practice.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong observational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments to residents according to the occupational therapist's treatment plans.
• Assist the Occupational Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
• Observe, record, and report conditions, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties.
• Maintain daily treatment records and document progress notes as directed.
• Assist the therapist in consulting with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist with the care of the occupational therapy department and equipment.
• Assist with in-service programs and other meetings as assigned.
• Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to the discipline and responsibilities.
• Understand reimbursement by various payers and allocate therapy resources efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments to residents according to the occupational therapist's treatment plans
• Assist the Occupational Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures
• Observe, record, and report conditions, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties

• Act in compliance with Ahava Therapy Services’ regulatory and professional standards
• Attend and participate in rehabilitation team conferences and other facility meetings
• Adhere to company and facility policies and participate in quality improvement and safety programs
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Understand reimbursement by various payers and allocate therapy resources efficiently
• Demonstrate knowledge of OBRA regulations, HIPAA, Local Coverage Determination, and third-party reimbursement guidelines
• Support the company’s mission and vision and project a professional image
• Independently perform duties and recognize situations where direct supervision is needed
• Maintain expected productivity levels
