Job summary

TheraDynamics is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support skilled nursing patients recovering from strokes, hip fractures, and cardiac events. You will assist the OT with procedures, help design interventions focused on functional independence, and support discharge planning to promote home outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current or eligible for New York State OTA license.
• NBCOT certification (or eligible).
• Passion for helping patients regain independence.
• Strong clinical reasoning and creative problem-solving skills.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapist in performing procedures, tests and complex treatments to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients; develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional independence, and collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and social work to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Address self-care skills, cognitive and perceptual deficits, home safety, adaptive equipment needs, and caregiver training.
• Your clinical reasoning will be valued, and your productivity expectations will be realistic.
