Job summary

Westminster Suncoast, located near downtown St. Petersburg, FL, is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support the outpatient therapy team.

This PRN on-call role reports to the Director of Out-Patient Therapy and participates in implementing resident care plans in a collaborative setting. The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s Degree from an AOTA-accredited program, is licensed or eligible for licensure, and demonstrates strong communication, time management, and teamwork in a

• Licensed or eligible for licensure in states that regulate the Occupational Therapy Assistant.

• Utilizes effective time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor resident progress and communicate with the Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Carry out established resident care plans and goals as designated by the OT.
• Assist the OT during resident evaluations.
• Maintain documentation in the system of resident activities, progress, and billing.
• Perform Resident’s Home Assessments as part of discharge, as directed by the OT.
• Conduct Resident screenings during admission, quarterly, and annual reviews as directed by the OT.

We are currently searching for a Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) This position reports to the Director of Out-Patient Therapy.

Schedule: PRN (On-Call) position

This position is responsible for:

• Monitor resident’s progress and communicate with the Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Responsible for carrying out established resident’s Care Plan and goals as designated by the OT.
• Assist the OT during resident evaluations.
• Maintain documentation in system of resident’s activities, record progress and document billing activities.
• Perform Resident’s Home Assessment as part of the discharge process as directed by the OT.
• Perform Resident’s screening during the admission process and quarterly & annual screening to determine the need for therapy as directed by the OT.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree from an AOTA accredited program.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in states that regulate the Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Utilizes effective time management skills.
• Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and residents.
