Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a per diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

We offer mentorship and clinical support for all therapists, weekly pay, flexible schedules including evenings and weekends, and access to state-of-the-art technology at Amsterdam Nursing Home in New York, NY.

Qualified candidates must graduate from an accredited OTA program and hold a New York State OTA license; new grads are welcome.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA Program.
• Current New York State OTA License.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising OT.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities and document as needed.
• Teach residents how to use equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members.

Duties of an exceptional therapist include:

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
