Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a per diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility in Bronx, New York.

You will support the supervising OT, select therapy activities, help residents with daily tasks, monitor progress, teach equipment use, and collaborate to shape the rehab plan. This position offers mentorship, CEU reimbursement, and flexible scheduling for dedicated professionals.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current New York State OTA license.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document progress.
• Teach residents how to use equipment to assist daily function.
• Collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contribute to team effort
