Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is hiring a day shift, full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). The role delivers patient-centered OT services under established plans of care and reports to the department leader.

You will supervise clinical support staff and contribute to program development. Ideal candidates hold an Associate’s degree in OT, an active KS COTA license, and CPR/BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Active Occupational Therapist Assistant license in Kansas.
• CPR certification.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Performs delivery of care following occupational therapy plans of care, and assures delivery of prescribed care to assigned patients consistent with standards of practice defined by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the occupational therapy practice act in the State of Kansas.
• Provides direction and clinical supervision to clinical support staff.
• Promotes occupational therapy services and fosters professional development throughout the organization and the surrounding community.
