Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support evaluation and treatment of patients across physical, perceptual, cognitive, and daily living activities. You will help re-train skills, teach compensatory techniques, and assist in discharge planning with family education.

Requirements: Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assist., BLS within 6 months, OTA license in Wisconsin, and strong communication, organization, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assist.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Wisconsin OT Assistant license required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist evaluation of patients' physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and ADLs.
• Implement individualized treatment to retrain and teach compensatory techniques.
• Plan for discharge including home programs and family education.
• Complete documentation with progress notes, discharge summaries, and daily statistics.
• Maintain neat and safe treatment areas and assist with equipment and transfers.
• Demonstrate modalities and exercise knowledge; monitor indications/contraindications.
• Participate in performance improvement and coverage planning.
• Pursue professional growth via continuing education and policy orientation.
• Assess age-specific care needs and adapt care accordingly.
