Job summary

The Springs at La Jolla in La Jolla, CA is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house rehab program. The role involves conducting screenings, developing care plans, and delivering skilled rehabilitation to geriatric patients in a post-acute setting.

Starting pay is $35 per hour, based on experience. New grads are welcome. This PRN position offers flexible hours within our comprehensive benefits package and in-house team environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, developing care plans.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions.
• Assist with standing/walking and patient transfers as needed.
• Administer procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques and therapeutic exercises.
• Provide counselling to patients, families, and caregivers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate discharge summaries ensuring regulatory compliance.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT - PRN

The Springs at La Jolla in La Jolla, CA, is a post-acute care facility with long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric services provided. We can offer a stable and fun in-house therapy team to work with as well as excellent programs serving our geriatric clientele in their journey to recovery. We are currently seeking a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) as part of our in-house rehab program!

Pay: Starting at $35/hour based on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct effective screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, developing appropriate care plans adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• The role involves regular standing and walking throughout the facility and occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment. Physical demands vary throughout the day based on patient care needs.
• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.

Qualifications

Occupational Therapy Assistant license is required.
