Southland Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Lufkin, TX is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our in-house therapy team.

You will screen and evaluate patients, develop care plans, deliver therapy, assist with mobility, document discharge summaries, and collaborate with families and caregivers to support recovery. New grads welcome; OTA license required.

• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions per regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Regular standing and walking throughout the facility; lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment.
• Administer procedures as part of the rehab plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, devices, and wound care.
• Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers and other providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Southland Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Lufkin, TX , is a post-acute care facility with long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric outpatient services provided. We can offer a stable and fun in-house therapy team to work with as well as excellent programs serving our geriatric clientele in their journey to recovery. We are seeking a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant o join our in-house therapy team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct effective screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, developing appropriate care plans adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.


• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.


• The role involves regular standing and walking throughout the facility and occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment. Physical demands vary throughout the day based on patient care needs.


• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.


• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.


• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapy Assistant license is required.
