Pleasant Valley Healthcare in Garland, TX is seeking a Full Time and PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our in-house therapy team in a post-acute care facility. The OTA will screen and treat patients with physical functioning disorders and wound care under regulatory standards.

Open to OTAs at all experience levels, including new grads. Benefits include health insurance, 401k, and tuition reimbursement; you will contribute to discharge planning and family counseling.

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapy Assistant license is required.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care; develop care plans.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions.
• Assist with standing and walking; transfers; and repositioning of patients and equipment.
• Administer procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan: manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, assistive devices, wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring regulatory and clinical compliance.

Pleasant Valley Healthcare in Garland, TX, is currently seeking Full Time and PRN Occupational Therapy Assistants to join our in-house therapy team. We are a post-acute care facility with long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric outpatient services provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct effective screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, developing appropriate care plans adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• The role involves regular standing and walking throughout the facility and occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment. Physical demands vary throughout the day based on patient care needs.
• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.

Qualifications:

Occupational Therapy Assistant license is required.
