Pleasant Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Garland, TX is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our in-house therapy team on a full-time and PRN basis. This post-acute care facility provides long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric outpatient services.

You will screen, evaluate, and treat patients with physical functioning disorders, participate in discharge planning, and collaborate with families and care providers.

Qualifications

• OT license required to practice as OTA.

Responsibilities

Pleasant Valley Healthcare in Garland, TX, is currently seeking Full Time and PRN Occupational Therapy Assistants to join our in-house therapy team. We are a post-acute care facility with long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric outpatient services provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct effective screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, developing appropriate care plans adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• The role involves regular standing and walking throughout the facility and occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment. Physical demands vary throughout the day based on patient care needs.
• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapy Assistant license is required.
• Open to OTAs at all experience levels. New Grads are welcome!
