Direct Jobs is seeking an Occupational Therapist to perform patient evaluations and provide interventions in ambulatory clinics. You will support departmental performance improvement, research, and clinical education while ensuring compliance with regulations and documentation standards.
The role requires a BS/MS in OT and a current Texas license, with preferred CHT/CLT and BLS certification. Prior experience in ambulatory care is expected, and strong communication in English plus Spanish or
Performs patient evaluations and administers interventions in department or ambulatory clinics, performs related duties such as departmental performance improvement, research, and clinical education, and serves as clinical specialist to staff. Also serves as resource to program or product line development. Adheres to practice act, regulations and rules, departmental policy and procedure, and documentation and reimbursement rules applicable to ambulatory care. Manages patient appointment system and work with front office on service authorization, certification and recertification. Demonstrates competence to adapt work and customer service to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and other developmental needs of patients.
Education / Specialized Training / Licensure: BS/MS in occupational therapy; Current Texas license.
Specialty Certification:
Work Experience (Years and Area): Four (4) Years Work Experience as an OT. Will accept minimum 1 year experience as an OT with 6 years' experience as a COTA for candidates having experience as a COTA and have completed a bridge program to be licensed as an OT. Half (1/2) credit given for prior COTA experience, cap at 5 years of experience.
Equipment Operated: Competency in Occupational Therapy equipment
Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contract), Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking), Writing /Composing Correspondence, Writing /Composing Reports
Bilingual Skills: Spanish, Vietnamese Preferred
Other Skills: Analytical, Medical Terms, Research, P.C., MS Word, Ability to fabricate, fit, and modify custom orthotic splints for patients with upper extremity injuries and conditions
