Job summary

Recover-Care Heartland is seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist to provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, helping them reach maximum performance and function in the community within their capabilities.

Responsibilities include writing evaluations, maintaining patient records, directing support staff, designing personalized therapy, and developing home programs for patients and families. Some travel may be required to fulfill duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
• Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
• Proficiency with applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Administers and writes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
• Maintains timely and accurate patient records and reports.
• Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients’ functional goals.
• Administers treatment programs to increase patients' levels of functioning.
• Designs individualized therapy for adult learning-disabled patients.
• Develops home programs and instructs patients or families in carrying out such programs.
• Participates in patient support groups with other team members.

Education
