Job summary

SourcePro Search, LLC is seeking an Occupational Therapist in Miles City, MT for a day shift role at a rural hospital. The position offers full benefits and a relocation/sign-on bonus to support relocation.

The OT will perform evaluations, develop treatment plans, and help patients achieve maximum independence, with focus on neurological, motor, and functional recovery in the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required.
• Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
• Licensed within the State of Montana

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, helping them reach maximum performance and function in daily life.
• Administers comprehensive evaluations and documents per departmental standards; provides consultation on environmental design, adaptive equipment, positioning, splinting, and liaison with schools, nursing homes, home care agencies, and hospital settings.
• Maintains timely and accurate patient records and reports.
• Designs and administers treatment programs to increase functioning; uses therapeutic exercises to improve strength, ROM, and fine-motor coordination; trains patients in adaptive techniques and equipment.
• Trains patients in the use of upper-extremity prosthetic devices and resumes daily routines; participates in home assessments.
• Provides therapy for neurological integration and sensor-motor remediation; designs therapy for adult learning-disabled patients.
• Designs and fabricates splints and adaptive equipment as prescribed by doctors; creates slings and devices to meet patient needs.
• Administers treatment programs to traumatic brain-injured patients; uses activities to improve judgment, orientation, and organizational skills.
• Provides prevention therapy to maintain functional skills; instructs patients in energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques for sensory loss, and transferring and visual field deficits.
• Assesses organizational skills, attention spans, cognitive abilities, coordination, and adaptive-equipment needs; designs home programs and instructs patients/families.
• Participates in patient support groups with the team; develops plans of care.
