Job summary

Bozeman Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide excellent therapy services and implement programs for referred patients. The role emphasizes patient and family education, collaboration with care teams, and thorough documentation in line with rehab policies.

Qualified candidates will have an OT degree from an accredited program, Montana OT licensure, and BLS certification; stroke education within the first year is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited AOTA program.
• Montana Licensure (Occupational Therapist) as required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Participates in two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates physical and functional status including muscle groups, motor function, upper extremity function, ADLs, coordination and neurological status.
• Implements a plan of treatment as indicated by evaluations (manual therapy, modalities, therapeutic exercise, splinting fabrication/modifications).
• Prepares and instructs appropriate therapeutic exercise programs and develops home programs.
• Documents initial evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, daily treatment, education and discharge summaries within BH Rehab policies.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers in strategies to manage pain, safety, and function; documents accordingly.
• Identifies issues re: patient safety and follows through with safety processes for all involved.
• Performs Functional Capacity Evaluations and/or Work Screens and Driver's evaluations if trained.
• Builds plan of care and implements treatment according to evaluation results with various therapy approaches.
