Job summary

United Hospital Center is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and psychosocial needs in a hospital setting. The role emphasizes coordinated care within an interdisciplinary team and responsible documentation of treatments and outcomes.

The OT will supervise COTAs and students, participate in staff education, and ensure accurate billing and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Current or temporary occupational therapist licensure in the applicable state where services will be performed.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provides coordinated and comprehensive patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, rehabilitation interventions and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team approach.
• Evaluates patient needs and develops and implements treatment programs to address disabilities and/or pain; collaborates with nursing to update safety algorithms.
• Documents all treatments in the EMR and submits charges for services according to department policies.
• Oversees COTAs, students, and volunteers; participates in staff and patient education to ensure quality rehab care.
