Job summary

ENNIS in is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist responsible for evaluating residents, developing individualized treatment plans, and supervising assistants to promote independence and mobility. The role involves regular communication with physicians, families, and the care team, along with overseeing documentation and compliance across the facility.

Responsibilities include conducting resident education, contributing to in-services, and participating in care conferences and rehabilitation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy; Masters/Doctorate preferred.
• Licensed OT in the state; continuing education requirements.
• Proficient with Net Health and PointClickCare.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine OT needs and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) and aides.
• Communicate with physicians, nursing staff, residents and families.
• Participate in care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Provide staff in-services and training as needed.
• Complete timely documentation per policies and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment and infection control.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals.
• Facilitate ordering of necessary durable medical equipment.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
