Job summary

Northwell Health seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients per physician prescriptions. You will develop treatment plans, improve upper-limb function, and work with an interdisciplinary team to maximize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, goal setting, caregiver instruction, and participation in quality improvement activities. A valid OT license in NY or CT is required; a license within one year may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, required.
• Master’s Degree, preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience, required.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in New York State and/or Connecticut.
• If not licensed, must obtain license within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administers direct patient care per prescription from a licensed physician or practitioner.
• Uses evaluation methods to set goals and designs a treatment plan.
• Implements plans to improve upper extremity coordination and function.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to maximize patient recovery.
• Instructs patients and caregivers in daily living skills for independence.
• Reviews quality improvements and participates in related chart reviews.
• Arranges durable medical equipment and provides discharge follow-up guidance.
