Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking an Occupational Therapist (PRN, Per Diem As Needed) to provide comprehensive OT services to inpatients and outpatients. You will assess, plan, implement, and discharge patients with measurable goals, supervise OT students, staff, and volunteers, and participate in program development and Performance Improvement activities.

Strong collaboration with medical staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in Texas.
• BLS certification is required.
• Pre-employment/post job offer health screening, annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of inpatients and outpatients.
• Develops and implements individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
• Adheres to documentation practices: evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries.
• Participates in patient/family conferences and interdepartmental meetings.
• Counsels patients and families; initiates discharge planning with education.
• Supervises OT/OT Assistant student programs, Rehab Technicians, and Volunteers.
• Assists with department operations, scheduling, and performance improvement activities.
• Maintains awareness of community resources and networks for referrals.
