AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients in our hospital setting, adhering to standards and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.

The role requires an OT license (or temporary license) and BLS certification; a Master's degree is preferred. The pay range is hourly with weekend differential, and you will join a purpose-driven team dedicated to extended healing.

Job Description:

The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients as medically prescribed, in a professional manner and within hospital standards, adhering to the corporate compliance plan and all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies.

Work Hours/Shifts:

NEW PRN Rate: $55/hour

2 weekend days per 4-week rotation minimum (weekend differential is an additional $2.25/hour)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in conversational English.
• Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills with patients, families, physicians, nurses, administrators, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Education

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy Preferred
• Education requirements for this position are determined by the applicable licensing or certification standards. Candidates must meet the educational requirements necessary to obtain and maintain the required Occupational Therapist license or temporary license.

Licenses & Certifications

• Occupational Therapist (OT) License – Required or
• Occupational Therapist Temporary License – Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – Required

Additional Information

• Must maintain all required licenses and certifications in good standing throughout employment.
• Must meet all applicable state, federal, and regulatory requirements governing the practice of Occupational Therapy.
