Job summary

AdventHealth is hiring a PRN Occupational Therapist for the Shawnee Mission, Kansas facility. The OT will evaluate and treat patients per medical orders, uphold hospital standards, and comply with licensing and regulatory requirements.

Strong communication with patients, families, and the care team is essential, along with maintaining licenses and certifications. The role offers day shifts with competitive hourly pay ($32.26–$60.01), and weekend rotation flexibility per the facility's PRN

Job Description:

The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients as medically prescribed, in a professional manner and within hospital standards, adhering to the corporate compliance plan and all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies.

Work Hours/Shifts:

NEW PRN Rate: $55/hour

2 weekend days per 4-week rotation minimum (weekend differential is an additional $2.25/hour)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in conversational English.
• Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills with patients, families, physicians, nurses, administrators, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Education

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy Preferred
• Education requirements for this position are determined by the applicable licensing or certification standards. Candidates must meet the educational requirements necessary to obtain and maintain the required Occupational Therapist license or temporary license.

Licenses & Certifications

• Occupational Therapist (OT) License – Required or
• Occupational Therapist Temporary License – Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – Required

Additional Information

• Must maintain all required licenses and certifications in good standing throughout employment.
• Must meet all applicable state, federal, and regulatory requirements governing the practice of Occupational Therapy.
