Job summary

Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to join the Acute Care Rehab Team in downtown Jacksonville, FL. This PRN role covers at least 3 day shifts per month with weekend rotation.

Caseload includes acute adult patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and general medical diagnoses. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to support rehab goals and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ year of acute care OT experience.
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in Florida.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients in adult acute care setting.
• Provide minimal outpatient care, mainly for neuro patients and upper extremity wounds.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists.
• Provide ongoing patient and family education.
• Coordinate with hospital teams including hospitalists, physicians, nursing and social services.

Baptist Medical Center hiring an Occupational Therapist to join our Acute Care Rehab Team at Baptist Medical Center, located in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. This is a PRN position which will provide coverage for at least 3 Day shifts per month and participate in a weekend coverage rotation. The Occupational Therapist will support the Rehab Team by working with a multidisciplinary team in an acute care setting. Caseload includes various diagnoses - neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and general medical.

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients in an adult acute care setting.
• Provides minimal outpatient care, mainly for neuro patients and upper extremity wounds (job competency training available).
• Works in a team environment with other Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists.
• Provides ongoing patient and family education.
• Works with multidisciplinary teams outside of Rehab Services (hospitalists, physician specialists, nursing, and social services.)

Experience Requirements

1 or more years of Acute Care Occupational Therapist experience strongly preferred.

Education & Credential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy
• Licensed Occupational Therapist from FL Department of Health
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
