Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized tests such as manual muscle testing and goniometry and teach OT procedures to patient and family.
  • Conduct both individual and comprehensive evaluations with a multidisciplinary team and document findings.
  • Plan intervention strategies and communicate with families about strengths and weaknesses; may work in homes, agencies, preschools, or clinics.
  • Provide OT treatment services to enhance sensory-motor functioning and development, with documentation of goals and progress.

What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university. M.A. or Doctorate (accreditation AOTA) preferred.
  • One year of experience in occupational therapy.
  • Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of applicable state with current licensure.
  • CPR Certification every two years.
  • Valid applicable state driver’s license.
What You’ll Do:
  • Responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.
  • Performs both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members. Provides written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan.
  • Plans intervention strategies and communicates effectively with families regarding the child’s strengths and weaknesses; work may be performed in homes, agencies, preschools or clinics.
  • Provides occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status.
  • Provides documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient. Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed.
  • Participates in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance. Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools to ensure most beneficial practices for population served.
  • Attends scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed.
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
