Job summary

Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, IA seeks a PRN Occupational Therapist to deliver outpatient and inpatient OT services in alignment with physician treatment plans. Responsibilities include evaluation, planning, therapy delivery, and documentation to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Completion of American Occupational Therapy Association accredited OT program with a B.S., B.A., M.O.T., M.S., M.A., or OTD degree
• Successful completion of the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB)
• Licensed as an occupational therapist, registered in the state of Iowa
• Reference chapter 201 of the Practice Act
• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider status
• Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse every 3 years

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to patients in accordance with physician treatment plans, including evaluation, assessments, treatment planning and implementation
• Documentation and communication related to therapy
• Supervision of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, Rehab aides and students as needed
• Ensure quality OT care and regulatory guideline compliance leading to positive patient outcomes

MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.

About The Job

The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for performing all Occupational Therapy Services including outpatient and inpatient. This individual provides occupational therapy services to patients in accordance with the physician treatment plans. This includes evaluation, assessments, treatment program planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication. He/she may also be involved in the supervision of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, Rehab aides and students. This position will assure quality occupational therapy care and regulatory guideline compliance leading to positive patient outcomes.

The Position: PRN, work as needed.

Pay: Competitive and increases with experience.

Shift: Monday through Friday during regular Business Hours. Once Trained, more Flexible Hours available.

Position Qualifications

• Education:
  • Completion of American Occupational Therapy Association accredited occupational therapy program with a B.S., B.A., M.O.T., M.S., M.A., or OTD degree
  • Successful completion of the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB)
  • Licensed as an occupational therapist, registered in the state of Iowa
  • Reference chapter 201 of the Practice Act
• Experience:
  • A minimum of one year is preferred but not required
• Special Skills & Aptitudes:

• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintain current status.
• Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 3 years.
