Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO, seeks an Occupational Therapist PRN to join an award-winning team dedicated to community care. The OT conducts assessments, plans and implements individualized therapy programs across Acute care, Inpatient Rehab, and Outpatient settings.

You will supervise students and collaborate with rehab colleagues to maximize patient outcomes. Qualifications include a state OT license, a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), and BLS upon hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum education required is a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred.
• State of Practice Occupational Therapy License
• BLS certification required upon hire
• New graduates from accredited school may apply

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and establish treatment goals for patients in Acute care, Inpatient Rehab, and/or Outpatient.
• Coordinate the treatment program with other clinical/therapeutic services.
• Develop comprehensive goals for treatment to maximize patient outcomes.
• Deliver care and modify the care plan in accordance with the patient’s needs.
• Serve as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues.

The Occupational Therapist carries out individualized therapy programs including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. The OTR supervises therapy assistants, aides and students.
