Job summary

KAISER Permanente in San Bruno, California, seeks a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for a 40-hour clinical role. You will provide occupational therapy services to patients under supervision, deliver care within the OT Act, and document in compliance with state and Kaiser policies.

The role requires California OT licensure, BLS, and NPI at hire. You will collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, and potentially teach education sessions and in-service trainings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited OT program with Bachelor/Master/Doctoral degree and OT certification.
• Licensed OT in California (OTR) required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and NPI required at hire.
• Knowledge of federal/state requirements; able to work in union partnership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care per OT Act and Kaiser guidelines.
• Document services accurately and timely per regulatory requirements.
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinics and care rounds.
• Refer patients to appropriate medical providers when needed.
• May instruct education classes or groups as directed.
• May lead in-service trainings and journal clubs.
• Mentor staff and supervise trainees as requested.
• Assist orientation and training of employees.
• Participate in performance improvement projects and committees.
• Monitor contracted therapists and patient care across Kaiser facilities.
• Perform other duties within scope of practice.

Job Summary:

Provides occupational therapy services for patients under the direction and supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, and or Clinical Supervisor or designee.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Deliver Direct Patient Care Consistent with the provisions of the Occupational Therapy Practice Act, licensing bodies, and Kaiser Permanente HealthPlan.

• Provides accurate and timely documentation of services provided per State and Federal requirements and relevant medical group and health plan policies and guidelines.

• Participates in multidisciplinary clinics, patient care rounds, and case management conferences as requested by management.

• Refers patient to appropriate medical providers when care is outside of scope of practice.

• May instruct patient education classes and/or groups as requested by management.

• May provide department in-service as requested by management e.g., journal club presentation, regular in-service presentation.

• May serve as a clinical instructor as requested by management.

• May provide consultation to staff.

• May act as a mentor for staff.

• May assist in orientation and training of employees as needed.

• May participate in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.

• May be involved in the clinical competency of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehab Aides.

• May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities.

• Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.
