Job summary

McLeod Health is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join its Pediatric Rehabilitation team in Florence, SC. You will evaluate and treat pediatric patients with developmental, neurological and musculoskeletal impairments, guiding therapy to help children gain independence.

Responsibilities include developing personalized plans, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team, documenting progress, and mentoring OTAs. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Licensed OT in South Carolina required.
• Must hold NBCOT certification and BLS/CPR.
• Experience in pediatric rehabilitation preferred.

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Set measurable functional goals and communicate progress with family.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations using patient history, observation, and objective measurements.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's unique therapeutic and learning needs.
• Establish measurable functional goals and communicate treatment plans with patients and family members.
• Provide occupational therapy interventions for a variety of developmental, neurological, musculoskeletal, and physical impairments.
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, re-evaluations, charges, and discharge summaries in accordance with departmental and hospital guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and communicate treatment progress.
• Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in patient caseload.
• Supervise assigned treatment teams and provide guidance and support to Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs).
• Participate in professional development activities, competency training, mentorship opportunities, departmental meetings, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean treatment environment while adhering to health and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Licensure & Certifications

• Active South Carolina Occupational Therapy License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification through the American Heart Association
• Current certification and good standing with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
