Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Arkansas license as a Physical Therapist.
• Experience with infants/toddlers or preschoolers with developmental disabilities or special needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with children birth through age 7 in clinical and school settings.
• Proficient with documentation and data entry in clinical software.

Responsibilities

• Conducts occupational therapy services as appropriate and related PT tasks.
• Completes PT evaluations and reevaluations as prescribed.
• Develops individualized PT treatment plans and documents progress.
• Updates patient plans quarterly and maintains Master Treatment Plan.
• Writes progress notes for every service billed.
• Maintains Individual Service Records for each patient daily.
• Assists with documentation related to PT evaluations and therapy.
• Refers patients for additional clinical services as needed.
• Participates in parent meetings, workshops, and trainings.
• Represents the program positively to families and visitors.
• Completes continuing education to maintain licensure.

Position Highlights Position:

Position: Physical Therapist Location: Batesville, Arkansas Schedule: Monday-Friday, with availability between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Setting: Pediatric therapy clinic and developmental preschool Population: Children from birth through age 7 Weekly Hours: 35

What You'll Do ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES

1. Conducts occupational therapy services, as appropriate.
2. Completes physical therapy evaluations and reevaluations as prescribed/needed.
3. Completes a formal written report of findings.
4. Develops individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.
5. Reviews and updates each patient’s treatment plan on a quarterly basis and updates the Master Treatment Plan.
6. Provides progress notes in the appropriate format for every service billed.
7. Ensures that Individual Service Records are completed for each patient served on a daily basis.
8. Assists with completion of other documentation related to physical therapy evaluations and therapy, as appropriate.
9. Refers patients for additional clinical services, as needed.
10. Attends and actively participates in job-related functions such as parent meetings, peer reviews, workshops, and mandatory trainings, as indicated.
11. Represents the program to parents, visitors, and the public in a positive way.
12. Completes continuing education each year to maintain professional licensure.
13. May perform other related or non-related duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education/ Certification:

• Minimum of Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university.
• Current Arkansas license as a Physical Therapist.
• One year of successful experience in a similar position working with infants/toddlers and/or preschool children with developmental disabilities and/or special needs or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
• Ability to work with children between the ages of birth to 7 who are at risk.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills which includes a working knowledge of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
