Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients and develop comprehensive treatment plans that align with the continuum of care. You will gather data from patients, physicians, families, and the care team to identify goals and age-appropriate needs.

You will implement plans, reassess progress, and document care while maintaining safety and compliance with departmental policies. Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an approved program in Occupational Therapy.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Maintains current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida—temporary permit acceptable.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and data sources.
• Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and identify specific goals and objectives.
• Provides care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
• Assesses data reflective of the patient’s status and interprets information to identify age-specific needs and care requirements.
• Competent in equipment use, care and maintenance; observes safety precautions and explains equipment purpose.
• Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate, and prepares written documentation for the team.
• Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit and ensures accurate billing.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and participates in Performance Improvement activities.
