Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking passionate Occupational Therapists for the Central Florida Region at various locations. The therapists treat injured, ill, or disabled patients through therapeutic activities to develop and restore daily living skills.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and documenting progress. Requires Florida OT license and BLS certification; benefits include extensive education assistance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

  • Maintain Florida OT license (temporary permit acceptable).

  • Develop treatment plans aligned with continuum of care and with clear goals.
  • Demonstrate age-appropriate knowledge and skills for the assigned caseload.

  • Demonstrate competency in use, care and maintenance of OT equipment.
  • Re-evaluate and modify treatment plans and document as required.
  • Communicate when the patient has achieved optimal therapy benefit.
  • Ensure accurate billing and compliance with policies.

Position Summary

Orlando Health is seeking passionate Occupational Therapists (OTs) for the Central Florida Region at various locations. The role of OTs is to treat injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities to develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.

Locations

Multiple Orlando Area locations. This position is used primarily to supplement weekend staffing.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.
  • Develop treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
  • Assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as delineated in the departmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
  • Re-evaluate and modify treatment plan and goals when appropriate, and prepare written documentation as required by the department, and the care team.
  • Recognize and communicate when the patient has received optimal benefit from therapy.
  • Ensure accurate billing.
  • Adhere to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
  • Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education/Training

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved program in occupational therapy.

Licensure/Certification
  • Maintain current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida – temporary permit acceptable.
  • Maintain current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
