Job summary

Maine Medical Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Outpatient Pediatric Feeding Program in Augusta, focusing on feeding, swallowing, sensory integration, and developmental therapies for infants and children. You will evaluate and treat feeding challenges within a collaborative team.

You will partner with families and clinicians to develop individualized treatment plans that promote safe feeding, growth, and meaningful participation in daily activities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program.
  • Current state license or license eligibility as an OT.
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • One year of experience in hospital, long-term care, home, school, or outpatient OT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluation and treatment for infants and children with feeding and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that support safe, functional feeding skills.
  • Partner closely with families, caregivers, physicians, SLPs, dietitians, and other specialists.
  • Address sensory, oral-motor, behavioral, and developmental factors impacting feeding success.
  • Help children gain confidence, independence, and improved quality of life through evidence-based interventions.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program required.
License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as an Occupational Therapist required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require current valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
Experience: One year of experience working in a hospital, long-term care, home, school system or outpatient Occupational Therapy department preferred.
