Job summary

Rehab Associates of Central Virginia is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our outpatient team. You will assess patients, create and implement treatment plans, and provide direct care under established protocols, while documenting progress for ongoing care.

A Virginia license or eligibility and NBCOT certification are required, with a focus on balance and vestibular rehab. We offer mentorship, ongoing education, and a pathway to leadership roles in a trusted regional clinic with a robust

• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• NBCOT certification is required.
• Current Virginia OT license or ability to obtain license and CPR certification.
• Able to design and implement outpatient balance and vestibular rehab plans.
• Ability to work autonomously and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop and initiate treatment plans based on evaluations.
• Review referrals and patient records to determine required occupational therapy treatment.
• Provide direct patient care per established protocols and guidelines.
• Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Oversee care provided by assistants and rehab technicians.
• Develop a plan of care with goals and a comprehensive program.
• Communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurers.
• Ensure timely documentation including daily notes and progress reports.

Job Description

We offer diverse specialized services, including Back Pain, Concussion, Vestibular/Vertigo, Dry Needling, Foot and Ankle, Geriatrics, Head, Neck, and Facial Pain, Health and fitness, Industrial Rehabilitation, Local School Sports, and Manual Therapy. • Assesses patients and develops and initiates treatment plans based on the evaluation results.
• Review the Physician's referral (Prescription) and the patient's condition and medical records to determine the occupationaltherapy treatment required.
• Provides direct patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines.
• Documents findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Responsible for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
• Completes a written plan of care, develops goals based on evaluation findings, and develops a comprehensive program to attain goals.
• Communicates effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies.
• Ensure timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited OccupationalTherapy program.
• Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Current state of Virginia license or ability to obtain a Virginia license and CPR certification.
• Able to create and implement outpatient balance and vestibular rehabilitation-setting treatment plans.
• Ability to work efficiently/effectively in an autonomous environment.
• Possesses basic PC skills and knowledge, including but not limited to Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, Database software, and MS Office.
