Job summary

Covelo Group seeks an Occupational Therapist to support a school-based program in Tacoma, WA, helping K-12 students participate more fully in classroom activities. The role offers a consistent weekday schedule with no nights or weekends and requires collaboration with teachers, families, and other school professionals.

You will evaluate students, develop IEP-based goals, and implement therapy to enhance motor, sensory, and self-care skills, while maintaining thorough documentation and progress

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Current Washington State Occupational Therapist license.
• NBCOT certification.
• Ability to complete required school and district clearances.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary school team.
• Previous pediatric or school-based OT experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services based on each student’s IEP.
• Evaluate students’ functional abilities, developmental needs, and progress.
• Develop individualized therapy goals and intervention plans.
• Help students improve fine motor, gross motor, sensory-processing, visual-motor, and self-care skills.
• Provide direct therapy in individual or small-group settings.
• Recommend strategies, accommodations, and adaptive equipment that support student success.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and other service providers.
• Maintain accurate treatment notes, progress reports, and required documentation.
• Travel between school campuses when required by the district.
