Job summary

Bedford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is hiring an Occupational Therapist to provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, helping them reach maximum performance to function in the community within their capabilities. The therapist will write evaluations and maintain records while coordinating with support staff to meet patients’ functional goals.

The role requires coordinating treatment programs, developing home-based plans, and collaborating with families and team

Qualifications

• Must have degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate).
• Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) is required.
• Proficiency with state, federal, and professional standards.

Occupational Therapist

Job Summary:

The Registered Occupational Therapist will provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, and help patients reach maximum performance level and to use skills learned to the fullest to function in the community within the limits of their capabilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Administers and writes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
• Maintains timely and accurate patient records and reports.
• Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients’ functional goals.
• Designs and administers treatment programs
• Designs home programs and instructs patients or families in carrying out such programs.
• Participates in patient support groups with other team members.

• Knowledge and skills to care for patient needs of the SNF population
• Must possess problem solving skills to successfully perform job

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
• Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
• Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards

Physical Requirements:

• Duties require extensive standing and walking.
• Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients.
• Duties require frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
