Job summary

Parkview Healthcare & Rehab Center is seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist to provide diagnostic evaluations and individualized treatment for patients in a skilled nursing setting. You will help patients reach maximum functioning and apply learned skills to community life within their capabilities.

The role requires comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team, along with ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
  • Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards

Responsibilities

  • Administers and writes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
  • Maintains timely and accurate patient records and reports.
  • Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients’ functional goals.
  • Administers treatment programs to increase patients' levels of functioning.
  • Designs individualized therapy for adult learning-disabled patients.
  • Provides prevention therapy to maintain functional skills; instructs patients in energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques for sensory loss, and transferring and visual field deficits; instructs patients' families in personal care for patients, especially proper transfer techniques to avoid back strain.
  • Develops home programs and instructs patients or families in carrying out such programs.
  • Participates in patient support groups with other team members.

Education and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy

Physical Requirements
  • Duties require extensive standing and walking.
  • Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients.
  • Duties require frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
