Job summary

Lifepoint Rehabilitation seeks an Occupational Therapist (OT), PRN, at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena in Michigan. You will assess, plan and implement therapy to help patients develop and maintain occupational skills, while educating families and coordinating discharge planning.

Possession of a Master’s in OT, active state licensure, and BLS within 30 days are required. Join our team dedicated to delivering high-quality rehabilitation services and improving community health.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient's ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills and design plan of care.
• Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document subjective and objective progress and adjust plan as needed; seek consultation when necessary.
• Educate patient and family/caregiver about deficits.
• Plan or assist with discharge from therapy; provide info on adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervise and delegate care by assistants and technicians per licensing laws.

How you'll contribute

• Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Documents subjective and objective findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.
