Job summary

Sendero Therapies in Northeast Ohio is seeking a full-time or part-time Occupational Therapist to join our team to provide quality therapy services for children across home, school and community settings. This role emphasizes evaluation, treatment and management of developmental, sensory, motor and psychosocial needs to help students achieve functional independence.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher is required.
• Current Ohio OT licensure is required.
• CPR certification for youth.
• Pupil Services Certificate from the Ohio Department of Education.
• Experience working with children with developmental delays or disabilities.
• Ability to perform essential functions, pass a background check, and be eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Perform school-based occupational therapy evaluations.
• Provide OT services using evidence-based interventions as per IEP goals.
• Consult with educational team on evaluation results and objectives.
• Document and chart in student records (quarterly reports, evaluations).
• Collaborate with team for service delivery and advocacy for students and families.
• Support educational staff and students through RTI.
• Act as fieldwork instructor for university students.
• Supervise OT assistants as requested by districts.
• Assist districts in policy development for OT services.
• Provide in-service training for staff contacting students.
• Ensure proper charge documentation for billing and collection.

Our therapists specialize in the evaluation, treatment, and management of children with a variety of developmental, sensory, motor, neuromuscular, educational, and psychosocial disorders, who may experience functional performance limitations.

Responsibilities

• Perform school-based occupational therapy evaluations
• Provide occupational therapy services using evidence based interventions and skilled techniques as indicated by the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) indicated by goals, objectives, frequency and duration of services for each student.
• Consult with appropriate educational team members for follow up of evaluation results and educational objectives
• Provide all necessary and required documentation and charting in student records, such as quarterly reports and evaluations.
• Collaborate with team members for delivery of services and advocacy for students and families.
• Provide support to educational staff and students through RTI.
• Act as a fieldwork instructor in the education of university students.
• The employee shall provide adequate and appropriate supervision (direct and indirect contact) of occupational therapy assistants at requested districts.
• Assist school district in developing policies and procedures for occupational therapy services rendered in that school district
• Provide in-service training for all school district staff and Company having contact with students.
• Provide Company with appropriate charge documentation for billing and collection on a timely basis.
• Maintain treatment and ethical standards consistent with those of the community, abiding by all school district(s) and Company rules.

Requirements

• Master's Degree or Higher Required
• Current Ohio Licensure as Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Maintain valid CPR certification for youth
• Obtain and keep a Pupil Services Certificate from the Ohio Department of Education to practice occupational therapy in the State of Ohio
• Experience working with children that have developmental delays and/or disabilities.
