Job summary

Spring Hill Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our full-time team. You will evaluate patients, design personalized plans, implement evidence-based treatments, and educate patients and families to promote independence and recovery.

Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, you will document progress, adjust plans, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients' physical and cognitive abilities to develop personalized treatment plans
• Implementing evidence-based interventions to improve patients' functional abilities and independence
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
• Educating patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and self-care techniques
• Documenting patient progress and updating treatment plans as necessary
• Provide occupational therapy services across diverse diagnoses including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and orthopedic injuries
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients' physical and cognitive abilities
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to achieve patients' goals and improve function
• Using multiple OT modalities: ROM, strength, neuromuscular re-education, cognitive rehabilitation
• Collaborating with nursing, PT, and SLP to ensure coordinated care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist at Spring Hill Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to our patients, including:

• Evaluating patients' physical and cognitive abilities to develop personalized treatment plans
• Implementing evidence-based interventions to improve patients' functional abilities and independence
• Collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and communication
• Educating patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and self-care techniques
• Documenting patient progress and updating treatment plans as necessary

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to patients with a wide range of diagnoses and conditions, including but not limited to, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and orthopedic injuries
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients' physical and cognitive abilities
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to achieve patients' goals and improve functional abilities
• Implement multiple modalities of occupational therapy, including but not limited to, range of motion exercises, strength training, neuromuscular re-education, and cognitive rehabilitation
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including nursing, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
• Provide education and support to patients and families on therapeutic exercises and self-care techniques
• Document patient progress and update treatment plans as necessary
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction
