Job summary

EPIC Rehabilitation and Nursing at White Plains is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for PRN/per diem weekend shifts to support our 160-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in White Plains, NY.

Responsibilities include planning, developing, and implementing OT programs; supervising therapy assistants; participating in discharge planning and care plan development; maintaining resident records; and collaborating with families and staff to deliver quality care.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current NY OT license and registration.
• Must have malpractice insurance and license in good standing.
• Excellent communication and patient-care oriented.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Occupational Therapist, OT is to assist in planning, organizing, developing, and implementing Occupational Therapy services in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the Director of Rehabilitation and/or the Administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times
• Occupational Therapist, OT must possess the ability to plan, develop, organize, evaluate, and implement the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., of the occupational therapy program to help residents obtain/maintain their highest level of physical, mental and social well-being.
• Occupational Therapist, OT will Interpret and/or instruct in physical therapy policies and procedure to personnel, residents, family members, etc. as necessary.
• Occupational Therapist, OT will participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, resident assessments (MDS), etc. as necessary
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants as required.
• Maintain treatment records, resident files, and progress notes as required and maintain an adequate liaison with families and residents

Requirements

• Must possess a current license and registration to practice as a Occupational Therapist, OT in the State of NY.
• Must possess current malpractice insurance, license in good standing
