Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, TN, seeks an Occupational Therapist to join our team. Outpatient care is provided 1:1 with each patient, focusing on improving daily living skills and independence.

Applicants must hold a Tennessee OT license and have or obtain Basic Life Support certification. This full-time role offers opportunities for supervision of therapy staff and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee Occupational Therapist license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess a patient’s ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills and design the plan of care.
• Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document progress and modify the plan of care as needed, with consultations as necessary.
• Educate patient and family/caregiver about deficits and interventions.
• Plan and assist with discharge from therapy services and provide information on adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervise and delegate care by assistants and technicians per licensing laws.

Outpatient care is provided 1:1 with each patient.

Sign on Bonus: $10,000.

How You’ll Contribute

• Assess a patient’s ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
• Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document subjective and objective findings of patient progress. Monitor and modify the plan of care as needed. Seek consultation as necessary.
• Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provide information regarding appropriate selection and use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervise and delegate the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.
