Job summary

Verbal Beginnings is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide age-appropriate OT services that complement Applied Behavior Analysis. You will collaborate with a supervising BCBA, behavior therapists, and other providers to deliver comprehensive care to clients, from infants to young adults, across home, school, and community settings.

The role emphasizes clinical quality, supervision, mentorship, and ongoing training within a clinician-owned and operated organization established in 2011.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
  • Current license as an Occupational Therapist in the practicing state.
  • Passing NBCOT is required.
  • At least 1 year of providing OT services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide age-appropriate OT services from infants to young adults.
  • Assess home, community, and school environments to support skill generalization.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans with appropriate equipment.
  • Document progress for the interdisciplinary team and maintain records.
  • Supervise OT assistants and participate in staff training.

Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Provide age-appropriate care for clients from infants to young adults
  • Be sensitive to the physical, emotional, and social needs of clients
  • Assess clients' home, community, and school environments, making adjustments to support skill generalization
  • Recommend and assist clients and caregivers with appropriate equipment for daily activities
  • Create rehabilitation programs to help clients regain fine motor skills
  • Conduct physical and psychological evaluations, using appropriate assessments for different age groups
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on valid prescriptions and Verbal Beginnings' policies
  • Evaluate clients' physical and mental health, set treatment goals, and adjust programs as needed
  • Create individualized care plans, documenting progress for the interdisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure proper billing and documentation
  • Safely use departmental equipment for client care
  • Ensure the quality and effectiveness of occupational therapy services
  • Supervise occupational therapy assistants as needed
  • Participate in interdisciplinary training and oversee training for interns
  • Engage in training activities and research at various levels, including curriculum development and publications
  • Deliver an average of 30 hours per week of direct occupational therapy services
  • Keep your certification and licensure up to date
  • Other duties as assigned
Work Environment
  • This role will work within the centers. Settings may sometimes operate in clients' homes, in the community, or in the professional office environment.
Qualifications
About You
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Passing grade on the National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy Exam
  • Current license as Occupational Therapist in state of practice
  • 1+ years of providing OT services
