Job summary

Atrium Health in Winston-Salem seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our pediatric team. You will perform specialized assessments, plan intervention strategies, and provide therapy in homes, agencies, preschools, or clinics, collaborating with families and other health professionals to support child development.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in OT, current state licensure, CPR certification every two years, and a valid state driver’s license. Prior OT experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized tests and teach OT procedures to patients and families.
  • Conduct individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team.
  • Plan intervention strategies and communicate with families about child development.
  • Provide OT treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy.
  • Document goals, progress, and participate in IFSP as needed.
  • Participate in chart reviews and attend relevant meetings.
  • Attend staff meetings as needed.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

What You'll Do
  • Responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.
  • Performs both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members. Provides written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan.
  • Plans intervention strategies and communicates effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses; work may be performed in homes, agencies, preschools or clinics.
  • Provides occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status.
  • Provides documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient. Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed.
  • Participates in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance. Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools to ensure most beneficial practices for population served.
  • Attends scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed.
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
