Job summary

Atrium Health in Lexington, NC is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive pediatric and family-centered therapy services across homes, clinics, and community settings.

You will evaluate, plan, and implement treatment programs, document progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support child development. This role requires strong communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
• Current state licensure to practice Occupational Therapy.
• CPR certification renewed every two years.
• Valid applicable state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized tests such as manual muscle testing and goniometry; teach OT procedures to patient and family.
• Conduct both individual and comprehensive evaluations with a multidisciplinary team.
• Plan intervention strategies; communicate with families on child strengths and weaknesses.
• Provide OT treatment including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy.
• Document goals and progress; participate in IFSP as needed.
• Review clinical records for quality assurance; attend relevant workshops.
• Attend scheduled staff and committee meetings as needed.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
• M.A. or Doctorate (accreditation AOTA) preferred.
• Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of applicable state with current licensure.
• CPR Certification every two years.
• Valid applicable state driver's license.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.
• Performs both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members. Provides written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan.
• Plans intervention strategies and communicates effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses; work may be performed in homes, agencies, preschools or clinics.
• Provides occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status.
• Provides documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient. Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed.
• Participates in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance. Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools to ensure most beneficial practices for population served.
• Attends scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
