Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital seeks an Occupational Therapist to join the inpatient rehab team in Brandon, FL on a full-time basis. You will provide therapeutic services, perform initial assessments, and implement treatment plans per hospital policy and state law.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy (Master’s preferred), maintains an active Florida OT license, BLS, and FIM within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy; Master’s preferred.
• Florida Occupational Therapist license (clear/active) required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current FIM (Functional Independence Measure) within 90 days of hire.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Treat disabilities, injuries and disease using therapeutic techniques per physician prescriptions.
• Record and document patient observation, treatment and changes in condition.
• Monitor, analyze and review clinical data.
• Reevaluate and modify treatment plans based on patient progress.
• Communicate care clearly to patients and families.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently looking for an ambitious Occupational Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be a skilled member of the healthcare team and provide therapeutic services to patients using initial assessments, therapeutic procedures and interventions in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the hospital and applicable law. Your duties and responsibilities may include:

• Treat disabilities, injuries and disease using therapeutic techniques according to prescriptions from a physician, performs testing and evaluation procedures on patients.
• Record and document patient observation, treatment and changes in condition.
• Monitor, analyze and review clinical data.
• Reevaluate and modify treatment plans and goals based upon patient performance.
• Communicate clearly and provide explanation of care in a way that can be easily understood by patients and their families.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy; Master’s preferred
• Experience in appropriate healthcare setting
• Clear/active Florida Occupational Therapist license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current FIM (Functional Independence Measure) required (within 90 days of hire)
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communicationskills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills
