Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the team on a PRN basis. The role involves providing therapeutic services, assessments and interventions in an acute care setting under hospital policies.

You will document patient progress, analyze data and adjust plans as needed, while communicating clearly with patients and families. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy, an active Florida OT license, and a current BLS certificate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy is preferred.
• Active Florida OT license is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• FIM experience within 90 days of hire is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic services with initial assessments and interventions.
• Record and document patient observation and treatment changes.
• Monitor, analyze and review clinical data.
• Reevaluate and modify treatment plans based on progress.
• Communicate care plans clearly to patients and families.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently looking for an ambitious Occupational Therapist to join our team on a PRN basis. As an Occupational Therapist on our team, you will be a skilled member of the healthcare team and provide therapeutic services to patients using initial assessments, therapeutic procedures and interventions in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the hospital and applicable law. Your duties and responsibilities may include:

• Treat disabilities, injuries and disease using therapeutic techniques according to prescriptions from a physician, performs testing and evaluation procedures on patients.

• Record and document patient observation, treatment and changes in condition.

• Monitor, analyze and review clinical data.

• Reevaluate and modify treatment plans and goals based upon patient performance.

• Communicate clearly and provide explanation of care in a way that can be easily understood by patients and their families.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy; Master’s preferred

• Experience in appropriate healthcare setting

• Clear/active Florida Occupational Therapist license

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Current FIM (Functional Independence Measure) required (within 90 days of hire)

• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills
