Job summary

Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) is seeking an Occupational Therapist (Inpatient) to provide OT services for inpatient and outpatient populations aged 15 and older at the on-site facility. You will evaluate, design patient-centered treatment plans, and document evidence-based interventions to support medical necessity.

The role requires NBOT certification, Indiana OT license, and CPR within 4 weeks.

Qualifications

• Must possess an Occupational Therapy Degree from an accredited program.
• Must be registered/certified by National Board for Certification of OTs.
• Occupational Therapist IN state license required.
• Must have current CPR certification in accordance with AHA standards or be able to obtain within 4 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Administers OT evaluations to inpatients and/or outpatients and determines appropriate treatment programs and/or equipment needs.
• Develops a patient-centered treatment plan based upon the evaluation, patient goals and age-related issues/needs.
• Ensures treatment plan supports medical necessity and incorporates evidence-based treatments and outcome measures.
• Revises/updates treatment plan per policy and communicates with the team and referring physician.
• Completes documentation timely to support skilled services and medical necessity.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

About the role

The Occupational Therapist (Inpatient) is responsible for the provision of Occupational Therapy services for an inpatient and/ or outpatient population from age 15 and older including, but not limited to, evaluations, evidence-based intervention, equipment recommendations and modality application under the referral of a physician or qualified non-physician provider.

What you'll do

• Administers OT evaluations to inpatients and/or outpatients and determines appropriate treatment programs and/or equipment needs, integrating age specific needs and issues for physical medicine rehabilitation population.
• Develops a patient-centered treatment plan based upon the evaluation, patient goals and age-related issues/needs to optimize treatment and function.
• Responsible for assuring the treatment plan supports medical necessity and incorporates evidence-based treatments and outcome measures.
• Responsible for ensuring the treatment plan is revised/updated appropriately per policy, communicated to appropriate team members including attendance at team conferences, and reviewed and signed off by referring physician (as appropriate).
• Accurately completes documentation in compliance with department and regulatory timelines to ensure a complete medical record that supports skilled services and appropriate medical necessity.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Must possess an Occupational Therapy Degree from an accredited program.

• 1-year experience with adult physical rehabilitation preferred

• Setting: Inpatient rehabilitation, on-site at Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI)
• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Hours: 7a-400pm
