Job summary

Home of Guiding Hands in San Diego County is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Infant Development Assessment (IDA) team. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling and up to 20 hours per week, with assessments conducted in family homes and community locations across the county.

You will assess children aged 0–3 with developmental delays, prepare written reports, and support IFSP goals while traveling to various sites.

Qualifications

• California OT licensed and eligible to practice in California.
• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an approved program.
• Experience with infants and toddlers with developmental delays.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete Infant and Toddler Developmental Assessments and intake paperwork
• Work directly with children and families during the assessment process
• Prepare written developmental reports
• Assist with relevant portions of the child’s IFSP
• Review vision, hearing, and other developmental information
• Complete required assessment documentation within established timelines
• Travel throughout San Diego County to family homes and community locations for assessments

Occupational Therapist – Infant Development Assessments

Part-Time | Up to 20 Hours per Week | Flexible Schedule

Pay: $50–$60/hour

Home of Guiding Hands (HGH) is looking for a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Infant Development Assessment (IDA) team. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity for an OT who enjoys working with young children and families and is looking for a schedule that can work around other professional or personal commitments.

In this role, you will complete developmental assessments for children ages 0–3 who may have developmental delays . Assessments are completed in family homes and other community locations throughout San Diego County.

What You’ll Do

• Complete Infant and Toddler Developmental Assessments and required intake paperwork
• Work directly with children and families during the assessment process
• Evaluate developmental skills and prepare written reports
• Assist with relevant portions of the child’s Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP)
• Review vision, hearing, and other developmental information
• Complete required assessment documentation within established timelines
• Travel throughout San Diego County to family homes and community locations for assessments

What We’re Looking For

• Current California Occupational Therapy license
• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an approved program
• Experience working with young children, particularly infants and toddlers with developmental delays or those at risk for intellectual or developmental disabilities
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively
• Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and current auto insurance
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification after hire
